Now that I’m having to go into the office again, I’m spending a fair bit of time listening to podcasts. These are the ones on my subscribe list, currently.

Harvard Business Review

I had a subscription to HBR for a year or so, but got more value from the podcasts that the articles. Fortunately, the podcasts are still free and available to the public.

Data and Tech

Data Mesh Radio - This appears to have shut down but the back episodes are a great way to come to understand data products and data mesh.

Analytics Power Hour - This is my favorite geeky podcast. The topics are relevant without falling into the hype-trap some other shows get stuck in and tone is conversational and easy to listen to.

Talk Python to Me - The format has shifted to a livestream focus and sometimes its hard to follow when just listening, but this is a great way to keep up with new things going on in the Python community.

Service Design Show - I suppose this isn’t technically tech (no pun intended) but good data comes from good services, so I think of service design as an ancillary concept to data.

Data Engineering Podcast - As the name implies, this one’s focused on the engineering side of data work. Good show, though it’s gotten somewhat AI heavy.

DataFramed - A tech and data focused podcast that I don’t listen to often but find enough nuggets of value in that I haven’t dropped it off the playlist. It leans heavily toward discussion with C-level types, so most of the episodes are presented from a vendor perspective and it can feel a little salesy.

News and General Interest

NPR Up First - Short (~15 minute) morning news roundup.

Freakonomics

Radio Atlantic - Long-form stories related to current news/events. Well done but with a definite lefty perspective.
